Alloy 20 also known as Carpenter 20 contains niobium for stabilization which enhances its corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 is an iron-base, austenitic alloy with outstanding corrosion resistance to a wide range of media. With the high nickel composition, Alloy 20 Flanges and Forged Fittings show excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking induced by chloride. In addition, Alloy 20 also has good resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It exhibits exceptional corrosion resistance in chemical conditions containing chlorides and acids. It also has outstanding mechanical characteristics at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
