Alloy 20 also known as Carpenter 20 contains niobium for stabilization which enhances its resistance to corrosion. Alloy 20 is an iron-base, austenitic alloy with excellent resistance to corrosion to a wide range of media. With the high nickel composition, Alloy 20 Flanges and Forged Fittings show outstanding resistance to stress corrosion cracking induced by chloride. In addition, Alloy 20 also has good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. It exhibits excellent corrosion resistance in chemical conditions containing chlorides and acids. It also has good mechanical properties at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
