Alloy 20 also known as Carpenter 20 contains niobium for stabilization which enhances its corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 is an iron-base, austenitic alloy with excellent resistance to corrosion to a wide range of media. With the high nickel content, Alloy 20 Pipes and Pipe Fittings show excellent resistance to stress corrosion cracking induced by chloride. In addition, Alloy 20 also has good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. It shows exceptional corrosion resistance in chemical environments containing chlorides and acids. It also has excellent mechanical properties at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
