Alloy 20 also known as Carpenter 20 contains niobium for stabilization that enhances its corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 is an iron-base, austenitic alloy with outstanding corrosion resistance to a variety of media. With the high nickel composition, Alloy 20 Round Bars, Plates, and Fasteners show excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. In addition, Alloy 20 also has excellent resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion. It exhibits good resistance to corrosion in chemical conditions containing chlorides and acids. It also has excellent mechanical characteristics at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
