Alloy 20 also known as Carpenter 20 contains niobium for stabilization which improves its corrosion resistance. Alloy 20 is an iron-base, austenitic alloy with good corrosion resistance to a wide range of media. With the high nickel composition, Alloy 20 Pipes and Pipe Fittings exhibit excellent resistance to chloride-induced stress corrosion cracking. In addition, Alloy 20 also has good pitting and crevice corrosion resistance. It shows excellent resistance to corrosion in chemical conditions containing chlorides and acids. It also has outstanding mechanical characteristics at both ambient and elevated temperatures.
